Under 13's Elite find Hill a tough one to climb
Buckhurst Hill started very brightly and for the first ten minutes City struggled to get out of their half, however slowly City started to gain more possesion and in the 16th Minute following a long throw from the left the ball somehow found its way to Jake Spurgeon just in front of goal to hit into the roof of the net and go 0-1 up. The game evened out with both teams having an equal amount of the ball. In the 29th minute Hill won a corner and as the ball floated over numerous appeals were heard from the claret defence for 'foul play' only for Buckhurst Hill to tuck the ball away and to the dismay of the watching claret fans the ref turned away and pointed to the centre spot, 1-1.On the stroke of half time Jack Calvin the City goal keeper went down in a heap and was unfortunately unable to play any further part which meant Jack Nicholls grabbing the goal keepers jersey for the second time this season and City having to have a major re shuffle.
HT 1-1
Buckhurst Hill pushed hard for a second goal, in the 9th minute Jack Spurgeon headed off the line then only minutes later Hill cut in from the left and put the ball in the net to go 2-1 up. City's heads didn't drop, the rest of the game again was very equal with City unfortunately not scoring from a goal mouth scramble, Alex Bowring just hitting over from some distance and Hill looking threatening with their breaks down the wings.
FT 2-1
Although harshly coming away with no points today, in these circumstances the City lads should go home proud of their battling performance.
