Sunday 13th March
Clarets V Thurrock Youth U12Quarter final match of the league cup kicked off against a strong Thurrock team. The Clarets started sprightly and passed the ball quickly but the final pass in the last third did not find the forwards or was snuffed out by the Thurrock defence. Nil nil at half time. The second half saw the Clarets with more possession and territory creating half chances and winning corners. The Thurrock keeper made some nice saves. Sunday 6th March
The Clarets were away to Perry Street playing at Barleylands; with a chilly wind adding to the proceedings. The match kicked off on a small pitch which made it difficult for the Clarets to play their football, as the pitch looked congested and both teams cancelled each other out. The Clarets took the lead and were 1-0 up at half time. The second half saw the Clarets pick up the pace creating more chances, with the goal count increasing in the last fifteen minutes. CCYFC U12A V Billericay Town The Clarets were at home to Billericay this week, after a two week layoff, which showed in the first half as the team looked lethargic, allowing Billericay to knock the ball about. There were glimpses of football from the Clarets in the first half and against the run of play, a nice through ball to George Smith saw him score the opening goal. So 1-0 to the Clarets at half time.
