Saturday 21st January 2012, Melbourne Stadium, Kick-Off 3:00pm, Blue Square Bet South.

City need to be at their best to claim the points from Saturday’s 3:00pm home kick-off against Staines Town despite the side’s lowly position in the Blue Square Bet South - that’s according to boss Glenn Pennyfather, who cites their recent 1-0 win at Woking as evidence.

The Massive, who currently sit second from bottom in the table, shocked the rest of the division when a goal from ex-Clarets front man Ali Chaaban secured them a single-goal victory over the league leaders. Pennyfather was one of the people who took note of the result and he’s determined for second-placed Chelmsford not to be next.

Glenn said: “We’re on our guard - we’ve got to be. There are no poor teams in this league and they have that great result at Woking under their belts. Staines have got Ali back with them and they’ve signed one or two others as they do everything within their reach to stay up. That’s why I was delighted with the six points against Thurrock as they’re fighting for their lives - and Staines will be no different.”

Sam Corcoran will again be missing from the centre of midfield as he serves the second game of his three-match suspension, while defender Mark Haines has gone on loan to Bishop’s Stortford for a month and striker Michael Bakare joined Macclesfield Town in midweek. However, Glenn otherwise has a clean bill of health for his team, meaning wide midfielders Greg Morgan and Ricky Modeste could feature.

“We’ve lessened the squad but we’ve got plenty of players for the Staines game,” Glenn revealed. “The squad took part in some more fitness work at Nuffield Health earlier in the week, enjoying activities like Pilates, swimming and gym work. Taking part in those alternative things gives the players different kinds of talking points to keep them all together as a team. We have a very tight-knit unit.”
