City too strong for Hutton

Date – 25th Sept 2011     Home Team – Hutton    (1)     Away Team – Chelmsford City   (4)

Always a competitive battle and once again both teams did not let the crowd down. City took the game to Hutton from the off and you could see the Clarets were keen to step up a level from last week’s game. Adam Sanders on the left wing was linking well with Kyran Rees up front, some neat footwork from Rees tested the goalie early. Hutton tried to play the ball through City’s midfield but Harrision Elles and Billy Hack kept their concentration and played the ball early to Rees. Max Norton Steele and Luke Ellul at the back for Chelmsford kept the Hutton strikers in arms reach and cancelled out their attacking attempts. Midway through the first half Jakey Morgan moved into Midfield and immediately provided some bite and flair. Again linking well with Rees, a clever pass put Elles through and bang into the bottom corner, 1-0 to City.

Taylor Stockton entered the game taking over Sanders and played a part in the second goal. City’s midfield was growing in confidence as the game went on and some neat passing from Stockton, Morgan, Elles that found Rees who then cued one up from outside the area, great strike and 2-0 City.

The second half started like the first but then Hutton stepped up a gear. Norton Steele was making more tackles in the first 5 mins of the second than the entire first half. Hutton pushed forward in numbers and tested Kye Denyer in goal; it was the continued pressure that allowed Hutton back in the game, 2-1 to City. The Clarets stood strong and then began to find their flow again. The third goal came from a corner, with great determination from Hack on the right side. Morgan stepped up and took the corner and scored, 3-1 to City. Sanders re-entered the midfield and again played some intelligent passes through the Hutton defence.

Hutton nearly made in 2 with a great free kick but Denyer made sure it was over with a confident hand. With a couple of mins remaining City was still hungry for more. The fourth and the best goal of the game come from the man of the match, Kyran Rees. A ball won from Stockton and then played into Elles, who passed to Rees deep into the Hutton half. Rees dropped a shoulder turned the Hutton defender and pinged the ball from outside the area hitting the inside of the net, great goal and 4-1 to City. Both teams battled hard and all the players provided a very entertaining game. Well done!
