Two well-taken goals either side of the half time interval were enough for Ridgeons Eastern Counties League Premier Division side Hadleigh United to emerge victorious against a young and experimental City squad at The Millfield.

United took a 39th-minute lead which they added to just two minutes beyond the break, an advantage they held onto for the duration. The Clarets’ youngsters will next take to the field at Heybridge Swifts on Saturday, kick-off 3:00pm at Scraley Road, while Glenn Pennyfather’s more experienced team travel to Canvey Island this Friday night at 7:45pm.
