City Legends vs Arsenal Celebs Tickets: Adults £7, Children £1, Family of Four £15. Sunday 4th July 2010
Chelmsford City fans can relive the club’s golden eras on Sunday 4th July at Melbourne when a Clarets Legends team take-on an Arsenal Celebrity XI in aid of the Prince’s Trust, and 13 famous faces from days gone by have now confirmed they will don the claret shirt once more!
There will be fun and activities for the entire family right through to the big 3:00pm kick-off. Monies raised will go to the Trust’s GetIntoFootball programme, which is to soon get underway at Melbourne in conjunction with the club, and the first group of stalwarts has been unveiled, with over 2,100 appearances and 560 goals to boast between them!
A wide expanse of years will be covered by the Chelmsford squad, starting in 1959 when the club’s record goal-scorer, Tony Butcher, joined the Clarets. To suit more recent tastes, Ian Cambridge will be involved on the pitch again having entertained under Paul Parker’s stewardship as recently as 2002. Tickets are £7 for adults, £1 for kids and only £15 for a family of four, with refreshments also on sale to accompany the festivities.
City’s Legends Squad will now include: Adrian Owers, Barry Lakin, Barry O'Dea, Colin Johnson, David Greene, Dennis Longhorn, Frank Bishop, Gareth Street, John Bishop, Jon O'Brien, Keith Goodwin, Ken Wigley, Kevin Foster, Matt Jones, Mick Butcher, Paul Goyette, Peter Gillott, Phil Thrift, Robbie Garvey, Simon Clarke, Steve Portway, Terry O'Donnell, Tony Rogers and Tony Butcher, who will kick the game off.
