22nd April, 2010
CHELMSFORD CITY F.C ELITE U13s 1 : 2  REDBRIDGE
E.L.S LEAGUE CUP - SEMI FINAL

City travelled to Buckhurst Hill (neutral ground) to play Redbridge in the league cup semi final on a nice sunny evening. Redbridge started the game with some nice passing and movement and an early shot at goal to test the goal keepr, however as the game wore on City got alot more of the ball unfortunately this section of the game only produced one more shot, which was from City that the Redbridge goalkeeper comfortably watched go just past the post. Then on 18 minutes the game livened up, a long throw down the left found Sam Little who crossed the ball into the six yard box to find James Thomas to head home, while he cooly re arranged his hair the claret army started celebrating. The rest of the half produced no corners and only a couple of weak shots from both teams with City going in at half time with a goal to the good.
HT 1-0
City knew they would be put under pressure and apart from City winning the first corner of the game on 2 minutes the first 25 minutes found Redbridge being very dominant, Redbridge got the equaliser in the 7th minute, 1-1. Redbridge won a free kick on the edge of the box however as the ball looked goal bound, Nick Robinson plucked it out of the air. Then, in the 20th minute disaster struck with some lack of comminication at the heart of the City defence and appeals for a foul, the Redbridge striker found the ball at his feet and calmly stroked the ball into the net to go 1-2 up.For the last 10 minutes City pushed hard for a goal, and in the last minute forced two corners and one long throw that see all the claret and white shirts in or around the box but it was not to be.
FT 1-2
In the pitch beside Snaresbrook beat Buckhurst Hill 2.0 to set up a Redbridge v Snaresbrook final.
