City Elite U15's make Brentwood work for the points
On a boggy pitch and in windy conditions City took on top of the Table Town and as with the two previous meetings this year there was nothing to show that Town were in a much higher league position.
City without midfield enforcer Heapey meant that Adam Knight moved back into central midfield with Warren Harrison playing up front on his own.
In the windy conditions City kept the ball on the ground and matched Brentwood in their passing football. Rose and Brown caused problems down the flanks with Knight and Rickard working hard in central midfield on a heavy pitch. Rose, Knight, Allen and Rickard took advantage of the wind with some long range shots and Knight was unlucky with a header from a corner which went narrowly wide.
Fenton playing against his schoolmates was outstanding along with Edey, Hayward and White to limit Brentwoods opportunites on goal with some tough tackling. George Harrsion was rarely troubled but when called upon he was there to pluck the ball out of the air. At half time City were on top but could just not create a god scoring opportunity.
The second half saw City finding space down the left with Rickard in fine form surging forward. Josh Rose put a great ball over to Harrison and was unlucky with a header which the keeper saved. Allen went on and Smith came on . Brown on the right made a fine run into the box and won a free kick on edge of box. City won a series of free kicks but were unable to capitalise on their advantage. At the other end Brentwood had a series of free kicks which City defended defiantly.
With only seven minutes remaining a defensive slip let Brentwood in for a scrappy goal which was not what the boys deserved. Brown went off and Zamir came on.
