  City made it two wins out of their last two matches following this dramatic win at Spa Road on Sunday, a result which moves City off the bottom at the expense of their opponents.

  The home sides direct route of play saw them take the lead but City’s tricky striker Letitia Cleary, saw her persistence pay off by reacting to a rebound from the crossbar to nip and tuck the ball home.

  Witham restored their lead midway through the half but City’s levelled again when Angela Arnold netted her first goal for the club. A a good ball out from defence saw her pick up the ball on the left wing, her run culminated in her cutting inside before placing the ball past the keeper into the net.

  The second half saw the home side enjoy a large amount of pressure but could not find a way past City’s keeper Sarah Waters and with two minutes left on the clock, City were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Witham box for a foul. Rachel Armstrong stepped up to curl a delightful free kick round the wall and into the top corner to seal a welcome victory for Chelmsford.
