City U15's lose in Cup

Team: G Harrison, Leon Hayward, Jack White, Frank Fenton, Jack Heapey, Jordan Brown, Adam Knight, Charlie Knight, Josh Rose, George Rickard, Warren Harrison Subs Aaron Senior, Mitchell Edey

A long awaited match against Buckhurst Hill finally took place. The gap in their relevant league positions did not show with both teams taking no prisoners in the opening exchanges but both teams tried to play football.

It was Buckhurst Hill who took the lead with a ball down the middle giving George Harrison no chance in goal.

But Chelmsford's heads did not go down and forced a number of corners. Adam Knight got a free header but it was cleared for another corner by a defender. However perseverance paid off when the ball spun free in the area and George Rickard was on hand to blast the equalizer for a deserved goal.

The boys continued to work hard but just before half time a challenge by a defender was deemed to warrant a penalty despite the attacking forward carrying on with out falling but the ref awarded a penalty.

The second half Buckhurst Hill increase their lead with an early goal when Harrison did well to save a fierce shot but the incoming forward was first to the ball to slot home.

Warren Harrison nearly pulled one back when he was put clear on the left and saw his shot beat the keeper but just trickle past the post.

The game was end to end but unfortunately Buchurst Hill increased their lead with another breakaway goal. Chelmsford did not give up and Mitchell Edey on for Josh Rose blasted Chelmsford's second. Chelmsford applied the pressure with Jordan Brown getting some space down the right and putting some good crosses in. Chelmsford had a blatant penalty denied when Adam Knight was first to the ball and then upended by the keeper but deemed to have fallen over to much in the match to warrant a penalty

Chemlsford had a clear goal denied after a scramble in the are a saw it go over the line twice by Frank Fenton and Warren Harrison but no goal was awarded despite the linesman flagging for a goal

With Chelmsford going to three at the back Buckhurst Hill got a late goal to give a slightly unfair scoreline than the boys deserved.

All the boys played well today and hope that this sets them up for next weeks County Cup Semifinal
