Essex County Girls League Under-15 Division A, played at Marconi Leisure on Sunday 28th March 2010, kick-off 2.00 pm.

Chelmsford returned to action hoping to put back to back league and cup defeats at the hands of Southend Manor behind them. A win today would have almost sealed second place in the league, but it wasn't to be.

In an evenly contested first half, City twice went close to scoring. Rosie Coe could not capitalise on her brilliant run past 3 of the Vikings defenders and Tayla Peel managed to shoot narrowly wide after spinning her marker and hitting a beautiful shot on the half volley. Vikings came closest to scoring in the first half and would have taken a lead into the half time break had it not been for a brilliant piece of goalkeeping from the returning Georgina Outhwaite, who saved well to her left when everyone thought the ball was destined for the net.

The second half was as even as the first but City lacked the cutting edge and it was the visitors who prospered with 10 minutes remaining, netting from a well struck free kick that the City defence couldn't clear.

Although it is still mathematically possible for City to end the season as runners up, it is now out of our hands. City's last two games are both away to Ockendon Rhinos and Redbridge, where they will be looking to end the season on a winning note.

Chelmsford City: Georgina Outhwaite, Shannon Matthews, Becky Bryant, Ellie Brown (Shannon Jones), Gabby Freedman, Rosie Coe, Bex Hinton (C), Tayla Peel, Millie Richards (Christy Hill).

Player of  the match: Tayla Peel.
