Thursday 4th February 2010

Sunday 7th February 2020. Played at Marconi Leisure, Kick Off 1.30pm.

This was always going to be a very difficult task against a slick Hammers side and so it proved as the visitors ran out comfortable winners.

Chelmsford though made their opponents work hard, albeit after conceding a goal with less than two minutes played. The lead was doubled on twenty minutes but overall the Clarets weren't being totally outplayed, with 'Girl Of The Match' Olivia Robinson excelling on the left side of midfield.

Indeed, everyone gave their all for the cause, and with stand-in goalkeeper Gemma Plank producing a string of terrific saves, there was still hope for Chelmsford at the break. However, that hope was soon extinguished by a third goal and further strikes at regular intervals brought about the inevitable result.

City were definitely out but not down, and they can now look forward to a return to league action, starting next Sunday when they visit Hutton, kick-off 10.30am.

Chelmsford City: Gemma Plank, Ellie Annan, Jade Harrington, Rosanna Critchell, Hannah Tomsett, Hollie Austin, Sophie Dorrington, Karina Fox, Olivia Robinson, Laura Massey, Emily Kendle, Jennifer Baldock, Stevie Bugg.
