City Win Again
Chelmsford City Under 8’s match report 28-11-09
Under 8’s Chelmsford Youth League Chelmsford Division
Chelmsford City 1
Stones Athletic 0
A back to back meet between these two teams was going to produce a tight game. From the off City gained possession and surged forward to kick off their goal tally. Stones keeper was on form saving several shots in the first 5 minutes from Max Bushell and Jakey Morgan.
Stones tried desperately to create some movement on and off the ball but Elliott and Stebbing for City at the back read their passes well and kept the ball deep in the Stones half. With only a few minutes remaining Max Norton evaded several tackles and slipped Matty Cook through and put City in front.
The second half was much the same as the second with City producing wave after wave of attacks. Stones did manage to break through the City defence but Carter Rowe continued to communicate well with his keeper Kye Denyer who was keeping it tidy between the two sticks. With minutes remaining Aaron Stone and Morgan worked the left side with some clever movement and produced some equally great crosses, but Cook could not connect in the area. The blustery conditions played a big part in today’s game and both teams found it tough to produce the flowing football from previous weeks.
