A Brace of Braces

Under 8’s Chelmsford Youth League                                   Chelmsford Division

Stones                         0

Chelmsford City         5

Both teams had to dig in due to the heavy pitch conditions.  Chelmsford City started the brightest with some neat one two passing between Max Bushell and Max Norton but the final ball was always falling short of the forwards due to the sticky surface. After several attempts a goal a close tap in from Jakey Morgan gave City the lead.

Stones tried desperately to push out of their half but they always closed down by the two reliable full backs Stebbing and Elliott. After a late attack in the first half from Stones, Kye Denyer kicked the ball clear of Chelmsford half into Matty Cook who then slipped the ball past the Stones keeper to make it 2-0 to City.

In the second half City kept the ball firmly in Stones half with some ongoing midfield pressure from Aaron Stone and finally a third was added by Matty Cook. Joseph Elliott’s

reward was also provided when a neat ball from Morgan split the Stones defence and aloud Elliott to make it 4-0. With a few mins left on the clock City’s pressure was rewarded another goal as Jakey Morgan blasted a 5th from outside the area. Stones made a couple of decent last efforts to grab a goal but Carter Rowe and Luke Stebbing kept it nice and tidy at the back for City.
