Cook serves up 4
Under 8’s Chelmsford Youth League Chelmsford Division
Springfield B 0
Chelmsford City 7
From the opening minute this was going to be end to end. Springfield was determined to stop City’s unbeaten run this season and displayed some powerful midfield runs. Midway through the first half, a pass from Max Norton laid nicely for Carter Rowe to slot home the opener for City. Straight after the goal Jakey Morgan and Luke Stebbing came of the bench and immediately changed the game. Stebbing as usual kept it nice and tidy at the back, whilst Jakey Morgan was testing the keeper upfront. A few minutes later Max Bushell placed a neat pass to Morgan, who curled the ball in the top corner, 2-0 to City. Soon after, a goal mouth scramble gave City their third.
In the second half City took complete control with some splendid counter attacking. Aaron Stone was using the width of the pitch and was pulling springfields defence from left to right. Within 10 minutes of the second half Matty Cook had slotted in his third of the game. Springfield tried desperately to grab a goal, but the ball was always forced away by Luke and Joseph Elliot at the back, and with Kye Denyer having his game of the season, there was no way past City’s keeper.
With only a few mins remaining a 4 pass counter provided Matty Cooks 4th of the game and 7th for City.
