Dramatic Final Minute Winner
Chelmsford City Youth League
Chelmsford City 2 Perry Street 1
City started well and put Perry St defence under pressure creating several chances, from which the keeper had to perform some good saves. Perry St broke away several times but City’s Elliot Howson and Sam Faulkner made some great tackles to keep City in the game. City continued to put Perry St under pressure with most of the play in their half but could not get that first goal. Each time Perry St broke away City’s defence and some good saves by Tom Clements kept the score at 0 - 0 at half time.
City started the second half as the 1st half with most of the play in Perry St half with some fine strikes by Jack Barry and Alfie Cutbush and Ore Kane they still could not find the back of the net. Perry St still continued to break away but with Elliot doing some brilliant sliding tackles, he managed to stop the Perry St strikers. The break through came for Perry St late in the second half when a careless tackle gave them a free kick just outside the box which when struck had a deflection giving City’s keeper no chance. This was the wake up call that City needed and really upped the pressure some great passing between the players gave Jack Barry a shooting opportunity outside the box which he took producing a great goal. Not content with a draw City immediately from kick off again gained control of the ball and with some great passing Ollie Ellis managed to shoot and score in the last minute of the match.
