Chelmsford City Youth League
Chelmsford City 2 v Doddinghurst Olympic 2
City didn’t show their best against Doddinghurst and seemed to struggle on a wet pitch. Some sloppy defending by City gave Doddinghurst a penalty, which they scored from. City picked themselves up and battled on and managed an equaliser with Ollie Ellis scoring a scrappy goal. Some good defending and some good saves by Tom Clements kept City at 1-1.
Doddinghurst kept pushing forward in the second half and were eventually rewarded with a goal. Nathan Williamson replaced Tom in goal after he was injured during a brave save. Almost immediately Nathan had to perform a good save after another attack. With time running out City kept pushing forward and were eventually rewarded by a fine goal by Sam Faulkner in the dying minutes of the match, a lucky escape for City.
